- words by Ecocious Founder, Ariana Whittingham
Our first Ecocious editorial has just released, we couldn’t be happier with the magic that was birthed on that day, and to be able to share it with the world – which starts with you.
Many of you will see our campaign featured across Moss Magazine but to those that are not already subscribers of Moss, we have will be posting our feature story and a few sentimental images along with some BTS via Ecocious Mag this week.
To all that have been involved and following this campaign since our model search competition, we are beyond excited to finally share these with you!
The day of the campaign rolled in after weeks of rain, and we had been manifesting clear skies, sunshine and nice, soft lighting – just like magic, the universe heard us and blessed us with the most beautiful day we could have hoped for! Followed with weeks of rain from the very next day.
The shoot felt like it flew by so quickly, only running an hour over schedule… We just didn’t want to stop shooting! Can you blame us?
The energy given from our creatives was everything we could have hoped for, and more. As a creative director, you cannot orchestrate your vision to life without having an ensemble of talented dreamers to bring your ideas to the world. Each of our creatives had individual creative input which you can clearly see in the final images, I like to think of the end result as a love child from our creative teams collective collaboration.
@JENNA.RAELEIGH is our superstar photographer and has shot almost everything you have seen from us since our launch event last year. Jenna is also one of my closest friends, she understands Ecocious on a deeper level, sees our vision and is helping us bring it all to life. She has such an incredible heart and chooses to always look for the beauty and excitement in life. When she isn’t creating art or capturing your best angles, you will find her spending quality time with family, friends and fur babies, or traveling to scenic natural destinations and always trying out a new healthy/vegan foodie spot!
@STYLEMECLARE and I worked together on a shoot in 2020, I instantly knew she was something else. Having worked in various markets before moving to the Gold Coast in 2020 she has a cultured, refined eye. Her work is recognised as elegant, alluring and Clare offers a more timeless > trending approach to styling. Clare pulled all of our looks from designers between AUS & NZ that are sustainable, to the Ecocious standard.
The intention behind this campaign was to exhibit an abundance of sustainable options for the modern shopper, to show how we do already have options for sustainable fashion that are aligned with our desires… not just the hemp, linen & boho looks most of us will upload when hearing “sustainable fashion” mentioned.
@NINA__STYLIST For the past decade Nina Hoffman has been working her wands and brushes over some pretty special people. She bounces between salons, red carpet events, film sets aswell as her regular role getting guest and hosts ready for their close-up on network television. Along her career, she has experimented with a vast assortment of products on all different skin types, sensitivities, hair types etc – think of a product or technique, she has tried it all! Out of everything Nina has learnt over the years she chooses to focus on longevity.
Seeing negative reactions on the skin, hair and the body from using products which are deemed professional gave her the push towards to research long term effects of chemicals on our skin & earth, and so the transition for her kit into predominantly “Clean” beauty products began! Nina focus on a selection of high quality products - without harsh chemicals. Products that add life, and enhance the skin/hair in a non-environmentally toxic and cruelty free way.
For our Ecocious campaign we exclusively used CLEAN products and whilst Nina worked her magic we chatted all things skincare, health and beauty, like us, she is excited by the abundance of new and established clean products available to trial.
Haven't swapped to Clean Skincare yet? (we have some here)
@BYGUSFILMS and I have worked on our own creative shoots and passion projects over the years and developed a close friendship. Angus is an absolutely incredible creative, he has worked consistently with music artists; Sticky Fingers, Mako Road, Foley, and Lily Papas (just to name a few), shoots for independent and globally recognised fashion labels between Byron Bay and London and has additionally worked on longer projects such as feature films and luxury/tourism projects. The stars aligned and brought Angus back from London just in time for him to jump on board with our Ecocious Campaign - watch our campaign video, filmed by Angus here.
All Ecocious events and shoots would not be made possible without the ongoing support from the Whittingham family, our mentors and close friends – because of you, we can make the “impossible,” possible.
